Newbie here, but learning. I succesfully backed-up one of my DVD's using DVDshrink3.1 and Nero6. However, it was painfully slow. Encoding/shrinking took over 4 hours and burning took several hours. I have a Pioneer DVR-A06U with 12x (or better) DVD reader. System is Duron 1GHz with 256MB. I could only accomplish this with the DMA setting unchecked for all drives. When I select DMA on all or just one drive, my system will crash after a few seconds of running either DVDshrink or Nero. During the few seconds before the system crashes, I get great speeds (i.e. 30 minutes time remaining instead of over 4 hours). Any ideas? TIA.
