I have the first version PS2 and it has proved to skip alot when playing my dvd+r's.
Does anyone know if the lastest version with progressive scan does a better job ?
Since the cost of a PS2 is close to a dvd player, is it better to get a new PS2 or a Sony NS325 player ?

I've got a v6 PS2 (I think). It has played everything I've thrown at it. DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, and DVD+RW.

PS2 is touchy at best. newer version have less compatibility issues. But I have a first release model and it plays DVD+R just fine.
