Dvd shrink question

I always used the old dvd shrink 1.03 and now i've tried 3.00 beta and they both go fast for me. Now The problem is that i don't think that dvd 3.00 beta can copy the full dvd with menus and stuff, so i downloaded dvd 3.14 and it goes EXTREMELY SLOW!!!! Why does it go so slow and how can i fix it?

and after i fixed the speed this happenes

ok so i riped it and when i drag the file into my power dvd player it just plays the menus and stuff before the movie, and you can't click any menu options its like a picture.

maybe its doing a deep analysis which I think takes a little longer in the later versions than the older ones

As I recall 3.14 does deep analysis by default.

You don't 'need' deep analysis if compression is in the 90% - 100% range. 70% - 89% you should use it. Under 70% and you need to look at what you are doing (do you really need the menues?).

ok i got another question, i want to copy a pal 0 region and i was wondering if you can just use dvd shrink and rip it and put region free, would that make it compatable with my dvd player?

Did you use the Re-Author function? Because that will make the menus non-functional....

dd, what are the changes made with that beta? just wondering because 3.1.4 is working fine for me, so didn't know if I should bother with the update.

shelbyGT, three main changes:

- A "Still Pictures" bug fix: they used to freeze in some set-top players.
- A new interface for the audio/subpicture default selection in Re-author mode.
- "Combine shared titles" has been re-implemented (after threats of serious nagging by me to dvdshrink ).


I have lost track of changes and bug fixes, so I'm not sure the retention of Closed Caption was already implemented in v3.1.4.

In any case, you could simply install it, and if it does not work for you re-install v3.1.4.
