Usually if it says vcd, then svcd playbaack is supported, my dvd player only says vcd but it plays svcd (recognised as vcd) the discman should work.

Just be aware though there are a quite a few players that will play VCD but not SVCD. I have one, the Pioneer 636.

Youre looking for something equivalent to a walkman but for video's (specifically svcd) ... archos .. or notebook/PC or the rio videobox??

I think what they mean is something like the shit on MP3Playerstore.com that plays VCDs and is all fit into a CD/MP3 discman unit. Forget that garbage - it doesn't exist (anything playing SVCD that is). sometimes they lie on their website saying that the player plays SVCD, until people such as myself buy it and complain to them when it doesn't work, you end up sending it back and they never give you your refund, but a few weeks later, they take off the libelous advertisement on their website that claimed the player played SVCD. I hope someone sues the f#ck out of mp3playerstore.com for fraudulent business and libel, worthless sons of bitches. But yea.... get a Cyberhome DVD player or a portable one.... or just settle w/ VCD quality in a crappy unit (screw those units anyway, the CD esp is like 10 seconds and the MP3 sound worse than me with diarhhea!).
