Hi

I read through some of the posts here concerning Svcd's and I've just come across my first which just won't play correctly on my PC at all.

I've tested the following:-

Cinematograph (v2.1.2.0) - Doesn't play, cd spins but no picture or sound, and no error

Windows Media Player 7 (v7.00.00.1440) - Doesn't play, error is "No combination of filters could be found to render the stream"

Windows Media Player 6 (v6.4.7.1112) - Similar message to v7 but after a rebooting and installing *something*, when I run it a message appears saying "A required .dll file Msdxm.ocx was not found"

WinDVD 2000 (v2.0) - Plays but no picture, only sound

The above seem to produce the same results, regardless of whether I have the mpeg-2 codec installed which Stinky very kindly sent me.

Other related Items I have installed for other things are the Divx 4.0 codec, which also installs *The Playa* and a *Divx Validator*. The other related item I have installed is the *nAVI Vx3 MPEG-4 Codec (smr patch)*

I copy and pasted the info from the Information window within Cinematograph incase it helps:-

Cinepak Codec by Radius
Direct Runtime Dvd version 6.3.1.400
Direct Runtime Quartz version 6.3.1.400
DirectX version 8 or better
DivX Codec 4.01
Indeo video 5.04
Intel Indeo(R) Video R3.2
Microcrap MPEG-4 Video Codec V3
Microsoft H.261 Video Codec
Microsoft H.263 Video Codec
Microsoft HLE
Microsoft Video 1

I'm using WinME, AMD K6-2 400mhz with 128MB which I think should be able to play it fine. Divx and Vcd's are normally ok but after a read it's most likely to be down to the mpeg 2 thing but I don't know what.

If anyone has any information regarding this I would be most greatful as I can usually get my head around these types of things but this one has me stumped! Members here know a hell of a lot more about it than me so I thank you in advance for any advice you might give

[EDIT]
I forgot to mention that I also tried to view it from within TMPGEnc and nothing happened, no picture or sound and no error.

The file information is:-

F:\MPEGAV\AVSEQ01.MPG (F: Being the CD-ROM)
805 MB (844,774,940 bytes)
