  1. I have a radeon 9800 pro video card and have installed all the updated drivers for it.I am trying to capture video thru a vcr using windvd creator. When i try to capture i get absolutly nothing. It does not seem to be capturing. What am i doing wrong?

Is there a better software program for capturing from a vcr?

  2. I use WinDVD Creator for that same purpose and it is fine. Assuming you are not connecting the VCR via coax, make sure that you have selected the COMPOSITE or S-VHS input (which ever is applicable).

    LOAD WinDVD Creator
    Select CAPTURE
    Select you CAPTURE device
Click on the little "wrench" icon
    Click on DEVICE CONTROL tab
    and check the VIDEO SOURCE

While I do not have a 9800 and do not know for sure, you may need to defeat MACROVISION included as part of the video drivers (if possible). Not sure of the process or if this would even be required for whatever it is you are trying to do. However, I had to find older NVidia capture drivers to by-pass MACROVISION on my GF4 440MX-based system.
