I don't have a DIVX capable standalone yet, but I would like to make sure that the discs I am burning now will work in one.
I have been archiving my AVI files on to DVDR. I use Nero to burn, with these parameters:
ISO Level 2
Joliet
No relaxation of ISO restrictions
I just burn everything in the root level of the disc. I also burn *.nfo/*.txt files and *.sub files (with the same root name as the corresponding avi) in the root directory.
Do you think that these will play in most of the DIVX standalones out there? I'm considering buying the Liteon LVD-2002, but I may not buy for a while.

On our line of DivX players, you can burn .avi files in any folder using either ISO9660 format, or HFS/ISO Hybrid format.
We have not **extensively** tested the Lite-On players, but I imagine that they are the same.
Most have a navigation system where you can choose certain folders, files, etc.
Hope this helps. -
I just use the Windows XP "Cd Writing Wizard" and just copy the DivX or XviD AVI file as-is to a CD. The LiteOn 2002 plays 'em just fine!
