  1. Hello all, I noticed the post about PS2 and VCD, I was wondering whether it was the same deal for UK PS2's and SVCDs? Can they be played on a PS2? Or is there a disc that needs to be used, like the region free disc?

Does PS2s even support SVCDs? I'm pretty sure they support VCDs, but Super VCDs?

  3. I have done some searching on the net and it would appear that the PS2 will play mpg2 video files, but they need a little bit of treatment first!

Firstly, use tmpgenc to create a video only mpg2 file, there is a template on the net called pss.mcf, I can't find it at the moment, goddammit!

You then need a wav file as well, which you would produce via DVD2AVI, you put both files into a PS2 video multiplexer, and it muxes them to a pss file format that can then be burnt to CDR and then played in a PS2!!

  5. I will be using a UK PS2 anyway 'cos I live in the UK.
I don't mind having a fiddle with the mpg2 muxing, I have most of my video that isn't DVD in mpg2 format anyway, so I don't have to do much to it to get it to work.

Can either of your friends send me a copy of the pss.mcf file that is needed?
