Personally I am going to wait to see if this is as crippled and useless as studio 8

I bough S7 and upgrated to S8 but I ran out of patience so I won't spend 'one' penny on S9.

Sorry Pinnacle but I lost faith and trust in your ability to deliver a stable video product for us simple video enthusiastics out there.

I bet the only difference from Studio 8 is Studio 9 actually works.

Sorry, Pinnacle. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. After fighting a losing battle with Studio 8 (a battle that nearly drove me away from video editing and DVD authoring altogether), I jumped ship to Vegas 4.0 and have never looked back. Sure, it was expensive, but I'm more than willing to pay the extra money for features and reliability, both of which Vegas 4.0 has in spades.

If this Studio 9 can do the followings , I will buy:

1) encode and author at least 2 times faster than Studio 8 (neoDVD is 6 times faster than S8)

2) multi level menus (neoDVD has 2 levels, fixed)

3) encode audio to AC3 (neoDVD has this)

4) support half D1 resolution (neoDVD does not have this)

Studio 8 works OK for me, but it does not have any of the above.

Why I still use Studio 8 if neoDVD seems better?
1) user friendly interface, easy editing (no editing possible with neoDVD)
2) support lots of chapters (I reached 90 chapters without any problem, neoDVD can only have 6 !!! so stupid)

Why Pinnacle comes out with S9 ? To make some money of course, only if this product works without hassles for many other folks then they will make a bunch, I am sure.

Nop, just check their Web site. S9 add a set of new features to S8, that's very much all. No improvement in term of speed and stability.
I love to hear when people start buying S9 and use it.
