  1. In the guides I saw a guide for authoring a DVD using DVD X Maker, but I only see DVD X Copy available to buy ... are these two the same things? The X Copy makes it sound like it's just for copying, not authoring ... Also, what do you guys think about DVD X Maker (copy, whatever it is) and what do you think of TMPGEnc DVD Author.

    Thanks,
    -Eric

  2. Just thought of one more question ... I am looking to make DVD-VCD's .. will these two programs (DVD X Copy and TMPGEnc) recognize the MPEG2 352x240 48khz files when I try to add them to the project. That is a valid DVD resolution...

  3. Ok, I apoligize guys ... I feel pretty dumb now ... I realize that DVD X Maker and DVD X Copy are two different programs .. but I would still like to know how DVD X Maker and TMPGEnc DVD Author handle making DVD-VCD's as well as what you guys think as far as the pros and cons of each program.

  4. If you are young and have lots of time to waste, please use DVD X Maker, because of the rendering process involved after each file you add.

If you are smart use both programs to make your DVD's. TMPGEnc will organize you files faster and more efficiently. But both programs have good qualities.

    Good Luck.

  6. agree with divingbuddy's comments about TDA .

OTOH, X Maker gives you a bit more control over menu setup and has a built-in label/jacket generator.

you pays yer money and takes yer choice...

  7. Ok, thanks guys! I've been using the demo version of TMPGEnc to create my DVD-VCD's. So far I have not been able to get a DVD-VCD with as great of quality as my VCD's (same mpeg file used for both). I think that the problem is just that my DVD Player is not as accepting of DVD-+R's. Does that sound like a logical explanation? It plays them, but just not very good?

    Thanks,
    -Eric
