I know you guys must get sick of replying to similar posts like this one so i appologise in advance!

well after getting my laptop up and running again and new xp pro installed with updated drivers inc DVD-RAM driver, i managed to get my dv camcorder working so started editing film from the past. all was ok untill i went to copy to 4.7gb DVD-R disc. it says "windows media player cannot copy files to the recordable disc" (only 27min clip)

Am i still missing a driver or not, also when ive gone into media player it only gives me the option of:

    AUDIO CD

    DATA CD

    HighMAT

    or portable devices

Does not say DVD and am i right in thinking it should come up as (Local disc C or (Local disc D and not "E"

Tried looking on the toshiba web site for other driver updates and what a bloody waste of time that it.

    hope you guys can help............pete!

If you are trying to author a dvd to look like a commercial one with menus and all that windows media player will not do that.

You need an authoring application like Tmpgenc Dvd Author. That will let you import your dvd compliant mpeg2 video files and you can create your menu that way and then burn to dvd.

If you only want to copy your video file to the dvd any burning app like roxio easy creator in data mode will do that (but it will not be playable in regular dvd form).

If this is not what you're after please describe your final destination in more detail.
