  1. I have an avi file (DivX) which I am trying to convert to MPEG 1 for VCD output. Whenever I input the avi into CCE and click encode now (after chooseing Video CD) CCE just hangs. It displays the total number of frames but then does nothing else.

Anyone have ideas how to fix this?

use tmpgenc instead -- which does a better job for vcd anyway ..

I have been unable to use CCE with DivX 5.0. It would either state that there is no proper decompressor for DX50 files, or would say that the number of frames received was incorrect or do nothing or encode, but produce a black file .

The only codec for AVI that I have succesfully used with CCE is hufyuv. If I want to encode with CCE, I take it through VirtualDUB and convert to hufyuv first and then to CCE. It takes time and HD space though.

Another option would be to frameserve to CCE, tried that but it's messy and only sometimes works.

I agree that Tmpgenc is a much better solution. Free and fast of VCD.

DX50 is an effing pain. Change the 4cc header and encode away (works for me every single time).

Change the code? how? is there any utility or do it with a hex editor? And change it into what? Any suggestions?
