Hi,
I've been using DVDate from Paul Glagla for years to help catalogue my home dv's (and picasa for printing the contact sheets). It's stable, easy to use and just what I need.

Now I've discovered Paul's CassetteDV - which looks to have even bigger potential because it creates it's own database of films and generates low resolution avi which you can keep on your hard disk for instant reference.

My problem - CassetteDV expects you to hitch up your camcorder to the pc to create the database entry (normally a good idea) but I have already got the raw DV files on an external harddisk and I'd like to use these as input instead (no need to recapture the tapes, save time, save wear and tear).

Does anyone know if this is possible. E.g. is there a program out there that simulates camcorder output to a pc using an avi file as input?

Many thanks,
Tom
