Hi all,
Any suggestions on a card (preferably with video card functionality that will do MPEG2 captures from TV and S-Video (SVHS)? I've tried the Hauppauge PVR 250 and the VIVO input on my GF4 Ti4600 but I'm not satisfied with the quality and the audio sync problems. Are there better options?
More info: I'd like to have finer control over the MPEG settings (motion parameters, VQ settings, etc.) than Hauppage provides, but I'd like to be able to capture in real-time (if possible) without losing frames or audio sync.
The system I'm using for this is:
2.4Ghz P4 with HT and 800mhz FSB
512MB ECC DDR400
160GB HD
GF2 MX 400 video
I'm currently considering the ATI cards, but am not sure what the MPEG2 performance differences are between the 7500VE/9600/9700/9800. Do these chipsets perform differently or is the encoding entirely software-based? I don't care about 3d performance, just capture quality and MPEG encoding.
thanks,
wade
