Hi i was wondering if anyone knew of a program that could convert dvd's to xvids that would do batch encoding. I ask this because it only takes about an hour and a half each movie (depending on the length) and if i do this at night time there is alot of time where i could just que them up and i could do 4 or 5 a night instead of one.
Any program that can convert from DVD's to Xvid batch would be great or if there is a patch for DVDx 2.2 as this is the program i use at the moment and am very happy with. So please if there is one please tell me.
Thanks for your help. I have searched everywhere and i couldnt find one i am probably missing one that obvoius.

I used goridan knot and it works perfecly.. but there is one problem and icant work out why it does it. it creates an xvid file that is 1400mg. I want it to split the file so i click split file. But instead of getting 2 700mg files i get 2 2.05gig files?? i dont see how that works. It appear to have split the file. But maybeuncomprssed the audio or sumthing that has made it huge. Does anyone else get this problem? or has anyone worked out how to get past it or to make it split the file into 2 700mg files?
Another question it has nothing to do with the file splitting it is in gordian knot is there an option to delete files that arnt needed? so i end up with just the Movie not a copy of the movie without audio one with it. so if there is an option in the program that will delete the file that arnt needed that would b great i looked but i coudlnt find one
thanks for your help

never seen the 2 gig file problem, maybe a bug in the version you have.
to delete temp files, the option to do this is in the final window before encoding.
to the left of the "Add job to encoding queue" button is a checkbox saying "Delete Intermediate files"
just make sure that is ticked before adding the job to the queue. -
I downlaoded the latest vertion of the program and it mixed the 2gig problem. It now splits them properly. But i couldnt find the Delete Intermediate files option. Could you please post a screen shot of where it is? i looked under every menu and couldnt find it. Maybe it is in your vertion but not in mine so if you could post a screenshot of the program i could compare to see thanks

Sorry for the slow delay, been on holiday for new year.
I'm not using the most recent version of GK since it didnt really improve anything for my needs, and if it aint broke...
so this is the screenshot of 0.28.6.2

OK so I've just noticed after all that, that you can only do seperate credits and delete temp files when converting to DivX not Xvid.
So sorry cant help.
Why not try doing them in DivX instead. -
Yeah thank for that i might go and get a copy of the older vertion coz i dont think that option is in the newer one. Ifeel that xvid has better quality ... but yeah i dont know ill just fiddle around see what i come up with. Is xvid better than divx? i have always thought xvid was a tiny bit better but maybe the newer vertion of divx is better? whats ur opinoion on it?
Thanks for your help

I've always been happy with the quality of DivX if the settings are right.
It may be an idea to send feedback to the author of GK to add the functionality of deleting files in Xvid mode, it shouldnt be to difficult since the code has already been implemented for the DivX encoding options.
