    Hi,

    I'm new to this hobby of capturing and making dvd.

    I have an Avermedia card and I'm looking for a software that can do the following or a close one;

    1. capture mpeg-1 or 2 up to 720x480 ntsc resolution
    2. can cut and paste frames and add audio
    3. can add video effects and transition
    4. author dvd's

    Ulead VideoStudio7.
    Pinnacle Studio8.

    Both these applications will do what you want, although Studio8 does not recieve very good forum/ reviews on this site it works OK for me
