    I have noticed a few people mention that if the DriveChecker utility provided by Sony shows a fail then the drive can be returned. This utility only seems to test the CD burning functionality not DVD burning.

    The utility returns an error when a DVD+RW is used in the drive but I think this is because it expects a CD.

    Anyone got this to work with a DVD?

    if its a sony dru510a use the utilty from liteon called smartburn 316
