  3. At sector 95280, either you have a dirty DVD, scratched, or possible media defect. Well, that's my analysis.

    this is what i found.
the disc i was ripping was a dvd that i had origionally created with nero. i have since found that all dvd s i have created with nero cannot be ripped using decryptor in iso mode, but they can be ripped in file mode. i dont know if this applies to any of you but it has solved my problem.

  6. See mine happened when backing up A man apart. It isn't a copy of it either. I might just clean it with alcohol and then see if that takes care of it.

Therein lies the problem. DVD Decrypter is designed to rip encrypted DVD's. Your copy is NOT encrypted, so it won't work.

    To copy a copy:

    1) Just drag the VIDEO_TS folder onto your HD and burn like usual.
    or
    2) Do a disc to disc copy in Nero

Once data has been ripped and burned onto a DVDr, you can treat it like any other data disc.

but when i make recordings with my philips standalone dvd recorder, i can easily rip them using dvd decryptor without any problems, and i always thought that the dvds my standalone creates are not encrypted??
i often record something on dvd+rw then rip it to hd using dvddecryptor in iso mode and then burn it to dvd+r.

Yes it can! and for your information, there are some commercial DVDs out there that are not even encrypted to begin with. For example, some cheesy porn DVDs.

I was referring to how it wouldn't rip it in HIS particular case. The main point I was trying to make is that there is no need to *rip* the discs he created. Just drag and drop. Even if you can manage to coax a ripping program to extract data off an unencrypted dvd, why would u want to? He is reporting that it doesn't always work, so he needs to know it's not necessary.

Each disc, system, or software set up has unique properties, so there is no set rule 100% of the time.

However....think about it. It's called DVD Decrypter. What does THAT tell you?
