Nero keeps coming out with all these updates....version 6.3.0.0 to version 6.3.0.2....without any documentation telling us what changed. I mean, come on! I cant be expected to keep downloading 22+mb 'updates' that dont appear to be changing anything every two weeks! They should at least come up with some documentation OR 'patches' that are 1mb or so...im on a 56k modem here!
Anyway, I know they increase compatability...but are they really necessary?
P.S. The poll question has nothing to do with anything.
P.P.S. This is more of an 'angry, confused person expressing his feelings in the form of nero-dev-bashing' posts, so...![]()

NERO..BAH....HUMBUG !!!
You don't want to know my thoughts on NERO, trust me... it would just start another flame war with all the NERO lovers.
So i'll just keep quiet.I Have Always Been Here

That's funny, I been a NERO user for a several of years form V5 to V6.3.02 with PERFECT -- Yes I meant PERFECT result!!!! ON three different machines mind you. I truly believe that many of the "problems" reported can be traced to USER ERROR or maybe I am very lucky which I doubt!
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD! -
Yes NERO Updates a lot BUT
I have so many different Programs and Utilities that don't quite work right and when the Companies get them FIXED they come out with a new version that I have to pay for again, with no interim fixes.
You want to keep your Modem Running hot try to keep up with every Microsoft FIX that breaks more than they fix.
I am glad to see a Company that feels enough for it's Customers to release Fixes as they get them completed.
Have you e-mailed NERO asking where the Changelog is? Everytime they miss updating I do and usually the WebSite is updated in a day or two.
If they have Multiple releases Coming in a short time they usually miss it in the middle.
The main gripe I have is with the people using NERO and Complaining that it's crap because it doesn't work but they never Contact NERO about their problems. No software Company can test their product with all of the different Computer configurations there are and sometimes telling them what you problem is and giving them the Information on your system and software lets them fix a problem faster.
SO ANYWAY thats my rant.......... -

P.S. Im not complaining about the program itself. Just the developers (and website programmer)-Yar, matey!- -
The last update of Nero 5.5 is 5.5.10.54. I had planned to get 6 but on trying it it's just bloatware (IMHO) where absolutely the only thing I will use is the burning program. So I stayed with 5.5.10.54. I went the whole hog on the update thing with 5.5. Since I do not want to go through that again and my 5.5.10.54 works perfectly I'll stay with it awhile.
For the nth time, with the possible exception of certain Intel processors, I don't have/ever owned anything whose name starts with "i". -
I have only had problem with Nero two time's Very old version did not let you fast forward SVCD on some DVD player's. Version 5510 that support the Sony DRU500 after burning DVD' would not play back on some DVD player's Nero fix the problemin the next verion. The only problemI have now IC8 and Nero do not like each other. So i can no longer burn DVD with Nero unlessI unstall IC8. So I use copytoDVD and Nero for SVCD burning.

Every program has bugs.
I am glad that Ahead posts updates.
As a previous poster said, it is better than not getting an update at all.
Yes, it is a pain to download a patch every week/month, but if your version works for you, then don't do the download (or skip every other one). At least you now have an option. If there is no patch, then there is no option and the bugs are still there. -
I find it amusing that people will complain about anything. They complain if there are no patches, and then they complain if there are patches.
And btw, I love nero. Nero is my friend.-Yar, matey!- -
Have used Nero with great success for years. Just because they issue an update doesn't mead you need to download it. Update once year or every 6 months if you suffer from techno-envy.

Updates are needed as new burners are made all the time, people would be screaming even more if nero didnt recognize their shiny new dvd-+r as a dvd writer.

you have to download the whole prog. or updates they call to reinstall nero when updated to new version. since old versions were regularly cracked , and " they" have no choice but not updating, which sometimes really needed to fix some minor bugs and compatibility issues...i guess.
