  2. This is how I do it with my Sanui DVD Recorder.
    1. Format the -RW dvd in video format
    2. Turn off chapters.
    3. Record the dvd.
    4. Finalize the dvd.
5 Use TMPGEnc DVD Author choose [add the dvd video] on option 3 uncheck [reading chapter info] and check [copy the clip video data to HDD]
    6.Edit out anything I don't want.
    7. Add my chapters.
    8. make my menus
    9. Author and burn.

hay, don't forget to mention that TMPGDVDAuthor is a Windows 2000 and XP
    only, app.

I found this out today, looking for a freeware VOB creater
Heard so many good things about it, that I wanted to try it out on my new
    DVD Writer 4x but it doesn't support 95/98/98SE/ME !!

maybe the Tools section might benefit if some minor tips were
included like the OS that the app minimally requres ??

    Do I understand you right?

Since it's a DVD+R then it's a single layer and likely non CSS encoded disc. You don't need to rip it. Just copy all all the folders to your HD and then just use Nero to write a new video DVD.

You can write from DVD-rom to DVD writer also but it will probably still cache all the files to your hd for you.

I have done a few of these testing book type setting on my NEC-1300a on DVD+RW and have had no problems recreating the new discs from my backups.

  7. well Its a DVDR+ that ive created using my phillips standalone dvd recorder and im told that you can rip the disk and make your own menus intead of the awful phillips one you get

but the burnt dvds from the writer all have 2 folders VIDEO_RM and VIDEO_TS

and no audio folder, so im thinking its something to do with my recorder not the dvd format then??

Well , I dont know anything about VIDEO_RM folders so I cant help you there . Next time please let us know just what it is you are doing , instead of just saying you cant rip a DVD+R and re - burn it .
Keep it on the big cam !

  9. AUDIO_TS folder is unnecessary and not used for movies. Don't worry about it.

  10. VIDEO_RM is used by DVD+VR (the real-time video recording mode of the DVD+RW standalone recorders). Anyways, you can try Loobster's method here: http://www.dvdguideuk.dsl.pipex.com/dvdguide/editing1/editing1.htm

  11. I have used the latest Nero (6.3.0.0) to use DVD Copy with anyout problems. I place the DVD+R (That has the Movie Files on it) in the DVD ROM drive and the Blank DVD+R in the recorder, takes about 15 min at 4x write speed.

Just rip to HD and burn - simple as that.
