tmpeg freezing

i have had this problem in the past and no one ever replied to it. on some movies that i try to encode to a vcd format, tpmeg freezez up. what causes this? it first happened to me when i encoded j park 3. eventually, i got it to encode. why, i don't know. it is really frustrating to take the time to downlaod a movie and not be able to put it on a disc. i would appreciate any help.

It should be b/c your video is not compressed (i mean your avi or asf that your trying to convert to mpeg). Use virtual dub to compress it)

I had a problem with TMPG freezing(with 3 different versions of it and several different toolame's) whenever I had it set to use an external Mpeg1 layer 2 audio encoder. That might just be me
