is it likely that the price of the pioneer a06/106 will drop after the release of the new pioneer a07.
i am thinking of getting a pioneer 106 but im wondering if i should wait until the release of the a07 which may cause the a price drop for the a06/106.
is it possible or should i just buy the writer now?

Since 8x -R burning is soon I'd think it would come down, or just go away completely.

a price drop!!
its only about £80 here in the UK and thats the dearest ive seen,it cant be much dearer anywhere else.
as for flaytstus's view,8 speed burning is dead even before its ht the water,as is dual layer burning and media.
bigger storage space will be the next thing. -

I see blue ray as being a collectors only thing for a large number of years.
The only problem is see with a price drop is exactly what you said at first, "look at the price now? where could it go?" well it could drop down to compete with the LiteOns which you can get for about $125 standard price and cheaper on sale.
8x DOA? Tell that to the few people with the 8x +R Plextors.
