Drop back to 2X if its a full disk then.
Are you burning a iso file or the vobs ? I have found less problems if i burn a image file.[/code]Not bothered by small problems...

I had asked a similar question and tried to poll this forum to get a feel for how many people have this issue. I have just changed over to G04 from G03 and so far have not seen any problems. I am burring with Nero on a Pioneer DVR105.
I am kinda disappointed in the lack of feedback but it at least gave me an idea of what some people are doing.

BTW - So far I've burned about 50 G04 with no issue. -
Also, just wondering if you have tried the movies that are giving you problems on a different stand alone player. Will they play through on a different unit?

I am burning the VOBS. I have tried playing those dvd's in a different stand alone player and same issue. As i said before it doesnt happen often, but it does only happen when i burn at 4X and have never had any issue burning at 2X and it only ocurs towards the end of the movie.

for me the problems while burning at 4X were random and with various media brands (cheap or expensive) and were viewable on 3 or 4 dvd players. Also happened while burning using diferent programs.
I think this has to do with how much the writer "likes" the media and how fast it can burn on it safelly.
This only occured with dvd-r media tho and never with dvd+r...
Some people say that with the new firmware (0G) for my drive (liteon 411s) there are no issues any more, but i didn't try it yet. I still burn at 2X. -
I have had problems in this area also. When burning some cheap white label 4x discs at the full 4x on my pioneer 105 i get lots of errors at the last third of the discs. Just put it down to really bad media and burned at 2x with a lot more success.
I now also use ritek G04s but i have NEVER burned one at the full 4x cause i am too scared of making a coaster cause they are £1 each (pussy).
I always burn at 2x using nero 6 and i have never had disc faults or compatability problems with these discs.
Good luck mate.
