  1. Is there anything I should know right out of the box for this unit? Any updates, firmware, etc? I have the latest versions of dvd shrink and nero and am ready to get going...hoping that I will be able to burn DVD-R's for my old Toshiba SD 1600 and my Phillips DVD 724.

    Since I am totally new to all of this I am hoping for some good advice. Thanks in advance!

I would go to www.rpc1.org and update the firmware.As for your "old" DVD Players I would first check over in "DVD Players" for -R/+R compatibility and test with a DVDRW and see if they will play .mp2 audio,if not then you will have to use AC3 or LPCM.If you have problems with -R there is a new booktype tool for +R located in "Tools'
