  1. I am new to the editing part of mpgs, I am looking for a good program to use to put a watermark on my rips for my own back up . I would like to display the rip name on the film as ripped by s0 and so, this is for my own copies and would like it to appear on the whole movie, Could someone suggest a good program to do this with. None of the programs I use offer that option.. I use smart ripper, dvd2avi, tmpgenc and dvd xcopy, not always all programs of course for each movie. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thank you very much

  2. Logo filter in VirtualDub can do that. You'll need to supply the logo and setup the filter.

Bad thing, you'll also haft to reencode the entire video to do it. Since VirtualDub doesn't do MPEG2, you need to go to AVI, then to MPEG2 with another application. That's 2 reencodes. This is not a good idea.

An MPEG2 editing program, such as Ulead VideoStudio, can do it with what is called an 'Overlay'. Still you will need to reencode the entire movie. Not a good idea.

It's easier to just create a 'disclaimer screen' and add it to the front of the movie.

But if you're really interested in doing it I'd setup frameserving. That would cut out 1 of the re-encoding steps. But it will still require 1 reencode.

I don't know any other way to do it.

    Good luck.
