    TMPGEnc: Pros:
    Powerful
    Many Options
    Adept and configurable Wizard
    Huge user following on this forum (the writer included)
    Quality Encodings
    Can also use separate audio encoders
    Can demultiplex/multiplex
    Edit mpeg files without re-encoding

    You will find more as you use it. Now the cons:

    Slow
    Free only until the fourteenth day, where you have to fork over $48.00 to keep encoding MPEG-2 files

    Error messages do not give fixes

    Cannot think of anymore, right now.
