Almost, we will go from VOBs to DVD MPEG-2 to DVD.

    1. Rip normally, to get your VOBs.

    2. Load each VOB into Virtual Dub mod, frameserve them into TMPGEnc and encode into a DVD MPEG format.

    3. Use the Merge & Cut tools to get your final MPEG file.

    4. Autor and burn to DVD with your favorite application.

  3. Ok that helps...
So far I use dvd decrypter and saved the vob files.
Now when I use the Virtual dub program there is no audio on the resultant AVI file that I am creatied?
    What happened to the audio?
    Thanks

Remember, you will not, I repeat not, create an AVI in this procedure. We will frameserve to TMPGEnc instead of creating one.

Also, make sure you are using Virtual Dub mod, not regular Virtual Dub.

    I will be standing by.

    I am using Virtualdubmod 1.5.10.1.
Can you give me a bit more instructions on the steps to do the
    frameserve to TMPGEnc process.
    I have downloaded the TMPRGenc.
Sorry. i am a complete newbie in this area

    Thanks

Not to worry. We were all newbies at one time. Try this guide.

  7. That was very helpful. I kinda got to the next step.
The problem is still the audio.
when I tell TMPGEnc the audio source (Which is the same as the video according to the guide) it comes back with :can not open or unsupported.

This DVD is using ac3 audio. maybe something special needs to be done for that?
Getting pretty close to giving up....

I wouldn't give up if I were you, considering you are so close. It's just your programs need a little tweaking first time "out of the blocks". The next time you do this will require very few adjustments. Anyway, here ya go:
    GUIDE

Now, this articles covers two issues, your file not supported error, and AC3 audio conversion. Try the fixes one at a time to see which one works for you. Hang in there!
