  1. I currently have the Liteon 411s DVD+/-RW and use dvd shrink and imgtool to record my dvds, but near the end of the disc I get artifacts on the screen. It causes the movie to eventually stop completely on multiple dvd players, so I know that isn't it. Any ideas besides just using other programs?

Need to know what media - Brand and speed. CHeap media is notorious for giving the problems you are describing here. SPecially if you as filling every bit of the disk. I tend to purposely create a final set of files that are about 100MBs smaller than the total DVD-R capacity and I NEVER get that problem. I also use NERO 6.3 and 100% results on all my backups which number in the hudreds. I've had a couple of burn failurez and those were my fault for trying to use my machine to do several things at once.

2 suggestions: Get better disks or keep your movie to 4 GB.

  4. i came across another thread a while back where pasting labels on your discs will also cause this problem ... something to do with the weight distribution and causing the discs to spin unevenly.
