I capture in MJPEG format (Pinnacle DC10+) and on another machine using a Hauppauge WinTV PCI card, IUVCR and the PicVideo codec. On the first machine I have no choice regarding MJPEG since the DC10+ does this in hardware, on the second I have found MJPEG is a good compromise between trying to capture in MPEG2 and in Huffyuv which chews up disk space galore
I take the avi files into Premiere Pro to edit out commercials etc (a bit of overkill I know) and then output to MPEG2 using Premiere. I find that invariably the audio goes out of sync when doing so while the audio is in sync for the capture video file. Anybody else experienced this? The only solution I have found is to encode in MPEG2 after capture ane edit the MPEG2 file directly which is okay I guess
Thanks
Larry
