  1. First off...this issue has been happening for quite a while on my end and searching for the answer has been a relentless pursuit. I need an answer..please! I am running XP Pro...Athlon Xp chip...1 gb mem....Geforce 2 mmx 400 personal cinema card....and Ulead VS7. I have tried capturing with field order A and B both and get the same results. I know as much not to use Frame based due to it being a problem for playback on the TV and DVD standalones. The playback is great as far as sound and picture clarity...except for the blurriness/ jerkiness when people move there arms fast or the camera pans horizontally. I am capturing in DVD mpeg2 mode in normal dvd resolution. I keep thinking its a field issue due to it playing fine on my computer but can't see how that can be due to using the right fields during capture by trying BOTH A and B. Does someone know the answer to this or has anyone experienced this same problem with VS7? ANYTHING would be helpful....even a link to a very highly organized and informative walkthrough for VS7. Thanx to those with guru knowledge!!!

I have had the same problem as you. I found that the screen you watch just befor you press the capture button is fine. As soon as you press the capture button the capture screen changes and I believe that the picture you see is the picture you are capturing with the interlace lines . I found that somtimes this happens and sometimes it does not. I found using the mpg2 codac seems to help . I change very little from the original settings and normaly render out as project setings and then burn . The final video plays OK on my scan 2000 DVD player.

  3. Doesn't the DVD capture selection in the dropdown box use mpeg 2 codec format? I always used the DVD option and kept the setting the same through the whole project. Should I be selecting the MPEG option? What is the difference between choosing the MPEG option versus the DVD option under the CAPTURE tab section?

  4. In addition when checking the DVD properties...it gives DVD as the video format unlike the MPEG option which gives you the Mpeg 1 and Mpeg 2 option. I have always assumed that the video format was mpeg 2 (DVD). The rest of my settings include 720x480 res, Constant Bitrate, Field Order A or B, LPCM audio, 44100 and 224 bitrate and sample rate on audio, 70% quality on the bar, and I do believe those are all the settings. I use these the whole way through from beginning to end with Ulead Video Studio 7.
