  1. I apologize for asking this again, but I'm not sure whether I am going about this process incorrectly or I just can't do what I am trying to do.

I have an ATI TV Wonder Card (not the All in Wonder card). It works fine in every aspect using MMC 7.1. The problem I have is when I try to capture avi via VirtualDub.

I have downloaded the wrapper.zip. I have installed the .inf file. When I installed it it looked for the .drv file and I pointed it back to the .drv in the zip. I'm guessing that is correct. Maybe not. It attempted to fine the .drv file in Windows/Cab. At any rate, I pointed it back to the zip .drv and continued.

I opened MMC and TV successfully, as usual. I closed MMC. I opened VirtualDub and selected Capture AVI. I get a series of errors (the same as before the installation of the wrapper.zip objects. The errors are:
    1. BtVID: Failure loading VXD driver.
    After that error, I get,
    2. Error 418: Devis is already in use (MMC is closed)
    I then get the error,
    3. VirtualDub cannot connect to the desired capture driver. Trying all available drivers.
    I then get the error,
    4. PANIC - VirtualDub cannot connect to any drivers.

I noticed in another post that one should be able to select the drivers from a video pulldown. I don't have that option.

So is it even possible to use VirtualDub with ATI TV Wonder, or is it only possible with ALL-IN-WONDER?

I appreciate any help very much. I know that this is a 'popular' topic, and it seems that only ALL-IN-WONDER cards are being addressed specifically.

    Thanks again!

the tv wonder is a tricky card to use with vdub, no doubt.
it took me lots of tweaking but I finally worked it out. however I wasn't very impressed!
for acceptable results, I suggest you use powervcr 3. It works great for me as it does real-time mpeg2 encoding and I've never dropped a frame.
