OK I'M AT MY WITS END..PLEASE PLEASE HELP.

I AM MAKING A BACK OF COPY OF ONE OF MY DVDS.

I HAVE COPIED THE FILES TO MY HDD (DVD DECRYPTER WITH DEFAULT SETTINGS) AND USED DVD SHRINK TO GET IT TO FIT ON A DVD5.

ONCE THIS IS DONE IT WILL PLAY NICELY IN POWER DVD HOWEVER WHEN I'VE TRIED TO BURN IT USING TMPGENC DVD AUTHOR OR NERO DVD-VIDEO IT CRASHES AT END SAYING "COMMAND SEQUENCE ERROR" AT 99% (IN NERO ANYWAY...TMPGENC DOESNT SAY ANYTHING HAVING SAID THAT THE ATTEMPTS WITH TMPGENC I 4GOT TO USE DECRYPTER BUT I'M STILL NOT CONFIDENT).

    THE DISC IS UNREADABLE.

I'M USING NERO VERSION 6.0.0.15 AND HAVE DOWNLOADED A NEWER PATCH BUT WILL THIS SOLVE MY PROBLEM? I DONT WANT TO WASTE ANYMORE DISCS.

    ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG? IS THIS A NERO BUG.

First thing you are doing wrong is using capital letters, thats considered shouting here, nero 6 seems to have bugs in for some people, try switching to the latest nero 5 and use dvd-/+rw to test further burns so you dont waste more dvd`s.

Try creating an image first, with ImgTools. Then burn the image with Nero or DVD Decrypter.

  7. How big is it now that you used DVDshrink? Are you trying to use every last bit available on the disk? Lot's of media have trouble near the end.

  8. use dvd shrink with open disk tool,if using latest version 3 set automatic.when this is done burn the video files to a ritek disc.lots of cheaper media have probs with the last sectors of the disc.i've had this with loads of discs like bulqpac, datawrite yellow/red etc.never any such probs with ritek dye though.hope this sorts you out.

hmm your last 2 comments seem to make a lot of sense...

the write fails on nero at 99% but ver 3 of dvd shrink shrinks to exactly fit disc....i am using bulkpaq but have had 3 straight failures....

however would the cheap media issue apply to that many?

also i have tried using an earlier version of dvd shrink (2.3) and when i reauthor and drag contents over they dont retian the file structure..any ideas?

i'm going to apply my latest nero patch but i'n not convinced that will solve the issue.....

may well try shrinking to 4200 or something like that....

  10. oh yes mate,i had 5 streight failures yesterday with bulqpac orange 4x.put a ritek in,hey presto!!! it worked fine.unfortunately i'm stuck with quite a few bulkpaqs so i keep giving them a whirl just to get rid of them 'cos some WILL work.in shrink 3 beta5 click on the ratio button under automatic once the dvd has been analized, this way you can make the size of the whole film smaller by adjusting the ratio bar, this may help too but i always leave it as it is.i've been through this all before mate,i thought i was doing something wrong, just crap media it turned out for me.hope this helps

  11. baggies1, does the error message contain "Could not perform end of Disk At Once"?
Do you use your computer while burning?

In any case, you might want to try burning at a lower speed, and not use your PC while doing so.
Updating Nero to the latest release might help too.

You can also make sure Nero is set-up properly by viewing the following guide:
    http://www.dvdshrink.info/nero-video.php
It was written with v5.5, but the principle is the same.

Do everything with CloneDVD and forget the rest. Easy and worth it! It does it all with AnyDVD or DVDDecrypter

I know of one case that had 14 straight erros with cheap media before the 100 pack went back (minus 20% restocking and $8 freight).

Anytime you are having read/write problems at the 90%-100% mark it's invariably cheap media.

As a test, force Shrink to use 4 GB instead of 4.3 GB and then burn the results. That or a DVD5 with no extras/extra Audio (so the total size is under 4 GB) and try that.

Nero 6.0.0.15 was not happy at all with my Pioneer 106. 6.0.0.11 and 6.0.0.23 are fine. Go figure !

I'd update that first and see what happens.
    If in doubt, Google it.

You said a DVD+RW won't work in your player. With Nero and a DVD+RW in the drive, check the book type under Recorder/Medium-info. If it says DRD-Rom then change it to DVD+RW.

Some of my DVD+RW's default to DVD-ROM and some do not. I don't know why.

    ok

seeming more and more like media..

cut a t3 disc whic hwas in the 4.3gb area (as reported by tmpgenc) which worked ok and also cut a converted avi in the 4.2gb area and both work a treat...

the end sectors issue with my orange bulkpaq discs seems an issue.

also, and i 'd luv some feedback on this, ive cut some discs which i;ve put in my tosh player and have worked fine then 30mins later will not work and dont work ever again....they do however seem to be able to be still read by my pc lite 811s player.....dodgy media again by my IMHO but i love some feedback on this?

cheers for help upto this point guys.

i'm pretty confident now that having tried the majority of software out there in the last week that it all pans back to media.

any suggestions to the best media against cost to buy and where best to purchase?

just to reiterate i've been using the dvd-r bulkpaq 4x generation 4 media which has been pretty critisised by a few others on the forum.

may well invest in a 100pack next time so i have to admit i want to get it right.
