I get an error with dvd's files made with Vegas 4.0 and Tmpgenc dvd author. it says the dvd is copy protected i/o error.
The dvd made with vegas 4.0 is a home video captured with my camcorder, so it's not copy protected.

The dvd made with dvd author is an episode dvd that I reauthored. It works with the original dvd but not the reauthored one.

I emailed nero and got a message to uninstall nero and use their sysclean program. Then to reinstall it... Didn't work. I still get this error. I emailed them back and waiting for a reply.

Anyone else have this problem using nero recode 2 with vegas + dvd architect or dvd author?

It says the fix is for dual processors, I have only 1 but will try it anyway..Hope it works. Thanks for the info.

What's wierd is if I use shrink and re-encode it without compression then nero will work on the files. Shrink even says it's NOT encrypted.

I had the same problem tried it with shrink 3 beta and it had the same problem shrink 2.3 worked. Looks like a shrink bug that made it into recode.

    Authored with TEMPgenc dvd author

Good News!! I downloaded the hotfix and it worked. Thanks for the link.

I posted this question earlier and the only response I got was..

"You have to rip to your hard drive first. The you can use Nero Recode. But the extra step of going to hard drive first isn't worth it unless you really want to save all the menu's and stuff. I think DVD Shrink is way better because it copies the disc to your hard drive while it compresses."

I think he thought I was a newbie.
