  1. Hi!

I've been trying to make a dvdr from divx files or avis, but I'm not pleased with the audio quality at all. The audio is very metallic and generally poor.
    This is what I do:

I extract the audio using Gold wave, saving the audio as a wav file(file attrubutes 16 bit stereo, signed)
Would saving it as anything else improve the sound quality?
Then I use TMPGenc and load the audio there and make a dvdr with good quality except for the audio.

What can I do, it's a bit frustrating.
Before when I used to make svcds I always used dvd2avi to convert the audio to 44,1 and the sound was excellent. i now that the audio in dvds is supposed to be 44,8.

I'd be grateful for some help.

  2. Nille,

This should help with your problem.

WAV is the highest quality format you can save audio in - it's PCM - pulse code modulation. It's completely uncompressed and saves every detail of the audio track it's provided with.

    Hope this helps.
