I just got a dvd-r that won't play in my Aiwa dvd player, has played every other dvd-r from various sources no problem. This one was made with a
Philips 985, plays fine on windvd and the guy's Sanyo player.
The only thing that looked wierd was when I analized it with dvd decrypter, it looks like the movie is on there twice or something?!? I'll include a screen shot. Could it be the settings on the dvd recorder?
Let me know if I can give anymore info that would help.
thanks

I looked up your Philips 985 recorder and it only records on DVD+R and +RW media. It may be that your Awia player wont play +R videos.
Try checking your Awia Player by model number with the players list at this site. -
forgot to mention that it is a copy; its been transfered to dvd-r, my computer only plays dvd-r media too.
