Hi,
I have MSP7.
I have a project that has about 75 mins of show in it.
I have tried to Create Video and Save it as an avi, but it is hours long and at 34GB of saved file, ran out of space.
Q1. If I clear space and save it to the saved avi file, will it continue saving the rest, or start again at the top?
I have also tried to use PlugnPac and frameserve it to Movie Factory, however 4 times MSP Vid editor has crashed about 20% in and only leaves a 17419MB file.
Q2. Why would it crash like this ?
I have tried to use frameserver serving to TMPG DVD Author, but it doesn't see any file to choose from.
Q3. Would it be better for me to Create the video as a mpg in MSP7 first?
Help.. I am going nuts here!

Try creating an MPEG instead.
Did you use a Mini DV camcorder to record your video?
If so, you might try the following encode settings:
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Field Order A
(DVD-NTSC), 4:3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8264 kbps)
LPCM Audio, 48 KHz, Stereo
Also, a recommended frame server for Ulead MediaStudio Pro:

Hope this helps,

Thanks Jerry,
Yes it is DV and captured using MSP7.
My project file preferences show..
PAL 25
O'lay tracks 3
MS AVI files
24 bits 720x576 4:3 25fps
Flied Order A
DV Encoder - Type 1
DV Audio PAL 48 16 bit stereo.
I have done all my editing and all is okaynthere just need the best way out of MSP to the burn so that quality is fine.
When this file was smaller I burnt it by Creating Video avi and then into Movie Factory and the quality was as good as the cable TV. It's just now the file is much larger and takes upward of 35 GB and forever to save. I can still go this way if it is my best quality option.
I will try the frameserver plug in you suggest
With my pref settings above can you please give me a 1,2,3 of how to output so I can use Movie Factory. It's getting a little confusing now
Thanks -
Well for those who have somehow got themselves to this thread maybe with the same problem, I finally got it all working.
It is amazing how simple it is once you know..
I Captured to DV PAL with MS avi.
Edited in MSP7
Saved to MPG (Through the Template button in the Save box I chose DVD PAL)
The 74 minute video was saved to a 3 plus GB mpg file.
When I was saving it as an MS avi, it was 35plus!
After the burn the quality was nearly as good as the orig DV. The DVD had 3 menus with 2 other short video and was 3.9GB. I burnt it in DVD Workshop.
I also found out one can tweak the bitrate to get a etter picture if one needs it. Find the MSP.ini file and add..
Advanced=1
to the VIO DDriver area.
XP Pro
512 RAM
600GB
Good luck
