Hi there,
I am a newbie.
Anyway.
The kids have a bad habbit of scratching my disc's.So i have decided to keep some backup's of my favorite's.
This way they can play with the backup's and i don't care.
My setup.
PC 1800 Athlon,!00 Gig HD,256 DDR.
Burner Pioneer 106.
DVD Decrpyptor
DVD2One
CopyToDVD
Datasafe Ritek G04 dye X4 disc's.
I have decrypted the movie's on to HD.When i run DVD2One they can take in excess for 40 Min's.Most of my other disc's have taken between 16-25 mins.
Most of these are around the 2 and a half hour mark.
When burned they come out pretty bad.
Waterworld very blocky
Musa Pixelating after 17 mins
Point Break poor quality.
I have since aquired the R2 Premier Asia 2 disc set of MUSA and that copied no problem, but it has 20 mins of cut's from the Korean set.
Is there a program i am missing to get a decent copy of these disc's.
I have had a look through some of the thread's and i noticed another along the same theme, but you tekheads were putting it down to the media he is using.
It seem's i am using one of the best for the job in hand.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.

How large are these files? Are you copying everything, menus and extras? Maybe your over compressing.

I love DVD Shrink. If you only want the movie and not the menus, use DVD Shrink. It copies to your HD as it transcodes (compresses). And if no compression is needed, it is great at doing a direct copy too.

wolv6769..I have tried with and without menu's & extra's.
Just read the back of Waterworld.
Running Time 2h 16mins Dual Layer.I think i read on Shrink that the DTS audio is 160 Meg.
I only want the audio in dts.

If you want the best quality, you can split the movie onto 2 discs. There are plenty of ways to do it. I use IfoEdit, because I like to keep the menus, and it's free. DVD X copy is easier to use, when you want to split and keep the menu. You can find plenty of guides on the subject.
If your willing to compromise some quality and sacrifice the end credits, you can use DVD shrink. Cutting the end credits, will allow you to improve the quality of the movie. No Menus. You would reauthor the just the movies, and use the start end feature in DVD Shrink.
