  1. Guys

I'm making great mpegs with Tmpg but when I author them using VCDEasy to make a VCD with menu and chapters I get skipped frames every now and again when I playback on DVD player.

Could it be the speed I burn them? I burn as slow as I can but I'm thinking it might need burning faster (say 24x).

Or could it be chapters and PBC which is causing the skipping??

    Any help appreciated
    Jimmy.

  2. Just had a thought, is it possible that having NERO and VCDEASY installed at the same time can cause conflicts (in the same way you shouldn't have NERO and EASY CD Creator...?)

  3. If anything you should burn slower. Alot of us burn at 4x and 2x. Also if your frame rate is 23.976 ntsc film some players don't like it. Try to encode in 29.97ntsc

Are you certain your mpegs you create are PAL[352x288@25 frames/sec].

I'm having a similar problem, but I am trying to watch a NTSC [352x240@29.97 frames/sec] mpeg on my DVD player. I get jerky motion on my stand alone, but on my PC it plays fine

I also live in the UK and my DVD and TV states they can play NTSC.
Maybe you are mistakingly burning an NTSC mpeg

Ive had the same problem with PAL + NTSC home made DVD-r, jerky picture on my standalone and PC playback works ok, i cant seem to change the write speed of my TMPG DVD AUTHOR as it is greyed out, CLONE DVD doesnt give me the option to alter speed and NERO has no option to burn DVD_ROM, do these programs conflict? is there any way to change the DVD-R speed in my system setup(not CD speed)? my movies seem to work fine on all my freinds standalone players some of which are not even multiregion, plz help as my patience has worn so very thin. this is the same with VCD also
