    software which can compress large files from your hard-drive such as mov., xvid, divx and home video to disc. So I can play the file or movie in real time, not for backup.

    zipit .. howver all these file types are already compressed and zupping them will only gain a small amount of extra compression (and could in some cases result in a bigger file) ...
