  1. I can't figure out how to apply a transition in Vegas 4.0.

I have a DV AVI file and I have removed some junk footage. I would like to apply a special effect to take the viewer to the next scene.

    What needs inserted....?

  2. you need to either split your track or have two tracks...

if you have your avi file on one track, go to where you want the transition to start & edit/split. then you can go to the transition tab (view/transitions if you can't see it) and drag and drop the transition onto where you just split - you will see the transition across the two segments

if you have two segments on different tracks, overlap them and drag the transition onto the end of the first one

you will see a circle w/ a line through it when dragging / dropping until you have positioned the cursor at the end of a track where it can apply the transition, then it should turn back into an arrow head and you can drop the transition

  3. Got it, it's so easy now! I can adjust the length of transition and type of transition...looks great.

    Thanks
