Using:
- Pentium III 1,000 MHz
- 512M RAM
- Sony DRU-510A DVD burner
- Sonic MyDVD 4.5 (came with burner)
- 10G free on 40G hard drive
- Windows ME
Was NOT able to burn DVDs of home movies (although it did capture from the camcorder OK)

I bit the bullet, bought new 80G HD and Windows XP home upgrade. Performed new install on new HD and LOADED ALL WINDOWS XP UPDATES/SECURITY FIXES 1ST. Then loaded Sonic MyDVD and other software (anti-virus, etc.).

(Made old 40G HD my D: drive) Now, Sonic MyDVD 4.5 works beautifully! After reading the various problems all over this site that folks are having, I am convinced the solution lies in replacing Windows ME for Windows XP Home Upgrade and loading all updates and security fixes prior to reloading any other software (including Sonic MyDVD).

I don't fully grasp all of the technical aspects of video capture/DVD burning, as I am a "newbie" to this process myself. Just thought I'd volunteer my experience thusfar.
