dvr-ms !! That could mean anything. What are you using to capture? What is the file name extension (avi, mpg, whatever)?
You have to give more information if you want help. -
Do any of the files on your pc display an .xxx extension?
e.g. filename.avi, filename.mpg, filename.wav to name but a few. -
I agree with feenix, It would help if we knew what hardware and software you were using.

I take it this is a Windows Media Center Edition PC. Those files are a Microsoft proprietary format designed to limit playback on the PC it was made on only. It does contain MPEG-2 video though and Microsoft has since released an update to let a user play the files on another of the users computers. I don't know what hoops you'll have to jump through to convert or make the file useable but you might want to start by digging around at microsoft.com to see what can be done with it.
