  1. I have a Panny E80 and haven't been able to do any HS dubbing to a blank DVD-R. I always get a message that tells me I can only do a real-time dubbing, which is more time consuming and implies image quality loss.

Any idea why is that so? I am using Ritex 4x media.

    Thanks,
    Santiago

  2. It should be somewhere here. I believe I posted it before, but I can try to locate it again in manual. It is there

  3. The problem is that I followed the manual instructionas (as well as the ones posted on this forum) and nothing....

I do have 'DVD-R Compatible' set on in the settings menu and I am trying to high speed dub clips recorded using SP settings to a DVD-R.

I can do high speed dubbing to DVD-RAM, but not to DVD-R

  4. Thanks Don Pedro!

I believe I found the problem:

"If you do ANY kind of editing on the hard disc, high speed transfer will not be available"

    I always do some editing.

My routine is as follows. I have the panny permanently recording from a Spanish satellite package. Then I erase all the programs I am not interested in and leave the films and programs I want to archive. There are no commercials in that channel. But I only keep about 10% of the recordings.....

  5. I had E80 for about 3 weeks. I was able to dub in high speed all of my recordings even after I edited recorded programs (Shorten Segment, Divide).

Are you sure that you are editing program directly and not creating Play List ?

    Off:
You cannot dub programs to a DVD-R disc using the high speed
mode if you recorded the program on a DVD recorder that does
not have the “DVD-R compatible Rec” function, even when dubbing
to the HDD with this setting “On”.
