  1. I've used Nero successfully for burning DVD media over a year now. Lately, something is preventing Nero from performing "end of Disk-At-Once" I've uninstalled and reinstalled the latest edition of Nero5, v5.5.10.54. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled my Pioneer 104 burner from the control panel. The burns go smoothly all the way to the end and then as soon as it starts writing the Lead-Out, it indicated the error in the log. The following are all the entries in the log:

    5:26:56PM DVD-Video files reallocation completed(no files modified)
    5:26:56PM DVD-Video files sorted
    5:26:57PM Caching of files started
    5:26:57PM Caching of files completed
    5:26:57PM Simulation started at 2x (2,760 KB/sec)
    5:54:52PM PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-104
    Invalid block address
    5:54:52PM PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-104
    Invalid block address
    5:54:52PM PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-104
Could not perform end of Disk-At-Once
    5:55:01PM Simulation failed at 2x (2,760KB/s)

I'm running out of ideas on what to do next. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

New hardware installed taking that address block? (Uninstall) Bad media being used? Try another. (appears to be about 30 minutes into the recording). Memory address flakey at that address? (try swapping if you have 2 sticks). Bios settings changed? (video). Revert. Burner flashed recently? (reflash) New burner update? (Reinstall old) New capture driver? (go back to previous) That screwed me once! Hard drive too full? (Insufficient work space) Temp folder full? There is a file limit as I recall. (check the temp folder in Windows and delete all). Hard drive too fragmented .... use Diskeeper .... or Windows Defrag. And of course .... the possiblilty of a virus!! (go to free-av.com and get their free anti-virus). Seems there could be a thousand reasons. These kind of things drive you nuts ........................

  3. I guess you should update to the latest Nero, most bugs are now out of it.
    Thanks,

  4. I found out from another thread that this problem is related to Instant Copy 8 (IC8) and its Instant Drive. I uninstalled IC8 and installed it again without Instant Drive. The problem went away.

I used Nero 5.x for a year with a Pioneer Ao3 Now I have the same problem described in this post and still do. After I installed a Pioneer AO6 in place of the AO3 I had it is Never to burn again with Nero. Clone DVD works great and burns everytime all the time.......I did burn one DVD-RW and did not get the error....with Nero ....tried 5.0.54 and the latest 6.whatever

I assume that the Instant Disk you are refering to is the Pinnicle/VOB version. If you read this please post.
I have the Pinnicle latest version installed to directly write to removable media.
Trouble is I need it on the system for all the RW's I have that have been formattd with it in hte past.

Both Nero 5x and Instant disk worked fine for a year with the A03, so why did it work fine in the past with the AO3.....is it the AO6 I am about to put the AO3 back in.

    Anyone care to comment?

  6. My problem was specifically related to Pinnacle Instant Copy 8 and Instant Drive, that is optional during installation.

It was suspected and now I think proven that Nero is trying to corner the market and is writting their software to exclude any other manufactuers programs on a users machine. Next they will be asking us to remove Windows explorier.
I knew you could not use ANY Adaptec programs, and I accepted that, and then Roxio and I did not care cause I had no Roxio stuff. now we can't use Pinnacle. I draw the line with that.

I guess because Pinnacle does have the capabuility to burn DVD files I should try it as I have already paid for it. Of course I paid for Nero to and it worked for a year just great until I installed the A06 to replace the A03
Thanks for the post and followup and confermation.
Nero should provide their own drivers and not attempt to share drivers. I wuld think that with a 13 meg download they could write a program that did not use other drivers that someother program might use. Of course that goes for the other manufacters too.

I have all of the tools listed in this post and replies installed on the same machine and working together just fine. I have seen a lot of people reporting problems though. The only thing I have run into with everything installed on the same machine is my burner will not eject with the button, only with the eject from my computer or in DVD decrypter. Just thought I would interject with my 2¢
The real answer lies in completely understanding the question!
