I'm using Flask 0.594 to convert .vob files to mpeg. Am I better off using the bbMPEG output or the Panasonic MPEG output? I'm have version 2.1 of the Panasonic MPEG output plug in but it only lets you do a maximum of 1150 video bitrate if you use 224 bitrate audio...I know I can knock the audio down to 128, but Panasonic limits you to 1374 TOTAL between the two. I'd like to use the built in bbMPEG but can't figure out how to change the bitrate settings for it since the option to is not available once you choose bbMPEG.

Anyway...of the 2, do they both encode just as the same?

  2. Panasonic limits you for good reason -- it is maintaining VCD compliance.

Try getting the newer versions of the Panasonic encoder.

Also, the Panasonic encoder as much better quality than bbMPEG (and faster).

    Regards.

well i guess it really doesn't matter cuz I want to keep it at 2 CDRW's the maximum. I'm using Panasonic MPEG at 1400 vid bitrate and 128 audio bitrate and that about fills 2 cd's....keeping it on MPEG Stream cuz if I switch to VideoCD it wont let me go that high on the bitrate..tested on my home DVD and it works fine. Glad I tried out this whole VCD thing...gonna be cool. First it was MP3s, then game emulation now VCD. Just another reason to sit at my computer all the time.
