i found the tmpeg 2.5 plus and i was wondering can i just use the trail and get all the features of it or do i have to buy the whole thing to get all the features?

I think the trail is full featured but once it is over you have to register it (aka buy it) otherwise it locks up on MPEG-2 encoding although I think it still works for MPEG-1 encoding.

Another alternative is CINEMA CRAFT ENCODER ... I'm talking about CCE BASIC which is about the same price as TMPGEnc Plus but is a much faster MPEG-2 encoder. However to fully utilize CCE you need to either use AviSynth AVS scripting and/or frameserve from VirtualDub. This makes CCE a bit more challenging to use for the beigginer but overall I like it better than TMPGEnc Plus ... and there was a time I never thought I would have said that.

Download it and try. They have a trial version of CCE BASIC.

TMPG Plus won't work at all after the trial period, not even for MP1. all you get is a screen prompting you to register and if you skip it the whole program closes. I think there is a free version of it now for continued MP1 support. also one drawback on CCE trial version is the logo it puts on your encodings.
