I have had no problems at all so far using DVD Shrink along with Copy to DVD but now here is my delima. I am trying to make a copy of one of my copies, so I jsut put the disk in and tried to copy and then paste the VIDEO_TS folder back onto my hard drive and everything goes fine up until the end. it for somereason just will not copy the last VTS file in the VIDEO_TS folder. IT pops up with a error at the end. So the last few chapters are not there. I tired to just copy and paste just that one VTS file but it would not go. I even tried to just burn from one disk to the other with Copy to DVD and it seemed to be working for few min and then just froze up.

Can someone please tell me how to make a copy of the copy

    Thanks for the help.... :P

  2. Well you are doing it the way most would do it..
You have got plenty of space left on your H/D haven't you ?? Sounds like its full or the dvd disk is knackered, does it play OK in a player ?

yes I still have plenty of space left on my hard drive. I have about 50 gig's left. I have tried it with 2 dvd's now and both of them did it. I get a error for the last VOB file. I really just do not have any more ideas. I would have thought it would have been pretty simple but I guess not.

    Good LORD, people.

    To copy a copy:

    1. Insert the "first copy" in your reader.

    2. Insert a blank in your burner.

    3. Start burning program of choice.

    4. Hit "copy disc".

    5. Wait.

    HOW HARD IS THIS?

For a lot of people not ...But for others that dont work nero just gives you a error of "Not enough space on disk to copy files"

SKDVR, Do the disks play (standalone or pc) Ok or do they stall near the end ?
Guess you could try dvdcrypter or shrink again to see if they can copy it off the disk.

Use DVDDecrypter with Errors Bypassing and rip in File Mode to your HD. Then Burn using any software you like.

I think what you're describing is a bad media!

    skdvr,

This happenned to me before. When you try to copy the video-ts folder from the disk to your hard drive, does the error message contain the words "CRC check" or "CRC error"? If so, the media is bad/corrupted/damaged. this means the file the error affects will not be recoverable without some software that can handle it (maybe there are options in DVDDecrypter or Smartripper to do that). In such a case, the disk with the error will still play the movie as movie playback software and stand-alone players are built to be error-tolerant. What you are trying to do is effectively copy data with bit errors in it, which is NOT error tolerant.

You can try a program called CDcheck to verify the integrity of your disk. It is free for individual use (don't remember the link, but google should find it). A software called CD/DVD diagnostic can also be used to recover data from problematic disks, but it is payware (although the free trial will inspect the disk and tell you if it can recover anything - for a fee).

    Hope this helps,

I do not have a solution to your current problem, but to prevent this from happening again, always check your disk for read errors after you have burned it. You can use Nero CD Speed - Transfer Rate Test or DVDINfoPro for this. If it has read errors, copy again until it does not have any. You might have to burn at a slower speed in order to avoid the errors.
Of course, you still have your original from which you can copy, right?

Just because the movie plays OK in a standalone DVD player, does not mean that it will be readable by a DVD-ROM or burner for purposes of copying. The error detection/correction is different between DVD burners/ROMs and standalone players.

You do realize some DVDR's have errors? You won't see them viewing, but they are there (or will be after aging a few months). ESPECIALLY 1x DVDR's burned at 2x.

Foolproof method is DVDDecryptor to rip in ISO mode (ignoring errors), then burn with application of choice.
