Hey,
I'm having some trouble getting my audio to work properly when I author a DVD using Maestro. I originally had my audio as MP2 but when I compiled the project I got an error message saying "At least 1 audio track must be PCM or AC-3".
So instead of going ahead and burning it, I converted all of my audio streams to AC3 using BeSweet. When I compiled the project there were no errors so I went ahead and burned the disc. I tested it out on 2 different DVD players and on one of them there was no sound, but there was on the other. I can't think of a logical explanation why this would happen because I was under the impression that AC3 was a standard for DVDs.
Also, I cannot use PCM as my audio because that would cause my disc size to be like 5 gig or something. Any suggestions on what I should do with my audio so that it will be compatible with the majority of DVD players? Thanks in advance.
Mike

It's Besweet thats the problem.
I had the excact same problem as yourself and used besweet to convert to ac3, but i soon found out that it was causing more problems than it was curing.
The errors you get, i still get them from time to time and i just ignore them.
But if you must convert to ac3 then used ffmpeg to convert to ac3.I Have Always Been Here

So can I just burn the DVD using the Mp2 streams and it will work on most DVD players?

Yep, as long as the audio is at 48000khz and the birate is set to whatever you want, then theres no problem.
I do it everytime when i put my TV captures onto DVD.
Just make sure the audio is at 48000khz when you encode it, the birate should not matter, but i wouldn't go below 192kbps, you will then start to loose quality.I Have Always Been Here
