PX 708a dvd writier...problem recognizing discs with cdrwin

I get this error "START DAO RECORDING command failed on device 2:0:0 Disc type is not supported.
I updated aspi layers...uninstalled re-installed cdrwin. I get that error with both discs cdrs and dvdrs. No problem with either discs using nero or any other software.

I also have a plex cdr writer and no problem using cdrwin with that. Both writers are on same box.

any ideas?

i had the same problem with my sony dru 500a, i also had a plextor cd-rw in the same machine, unfortunately i cant help you solve the problem as i never figured it out either but i'm wondering if the plextor is the connection here as we both have one although i tried my sony without the plextor connected and it still didnt work, others have had no problem with the sony dru500a on cdrwin so i'm at a loss.

I have now changed to a pioneer 106 dvd burner and cdrwin will not recognise it as a writer (although it will see it as a dvd ron reader) the website says it should work and i have the latest aspi drivers (4.71.2), anyone have any ideas?
