  1. Hi, I've got Matshita SW-9581-C, the processor is an Athlon 2600, 1G memory 150G hard disc.

I was only able to burn DVDs with Pinnacle Studio 8 using it's inbuilt DVD burner. I was never able to write discs with the supplied Expressions.

I downloaded a firmware upgrade from firmware-flash.com, when I installed it I was never given the option to save the old firmware (B100). It flashed it to B102, but this has made things even worse, now I can't burn any DVDs all it does is ruin the discs, it's even ruined a rewriteable!

I emailed the author, Arzeno for help on this matter, no reply (yet).

Can anyone tell me where to download the B100 version of the firmware?

I reinstalled the operating system Windows XP but this didn't help either.

I also tried a Pioneer 106D, but this just ruins discs as well, maybe it's just a coincidence. Dunno, but I'm really fed up.

    All help gratefully accepted:
    -Pete

  3. Hi Alan,
Thanks for reply. Maybe it is faulty, however I still need to flash the firmware back to the original version in order to get it sorted out under warranty. Any ideas?

I think the problem is the fact that the so called system builders at Time have chosen to use FAT32 instead of NTFS, this means that it's only possible to capture a MAXIMUM of 18 minutes of video, or maybe it's because the Windows installation has been copied from a master hard disc (preinstalled), so everything is set to safe settings, great so you have to buy a 2600 Athlon to get the same performance as a 1200.
Take my advise don't buy anything from the computer shop (formerly known as The Computer World). Their after sales service is attrocious as is their extended warranties. BUILD YOUR OWN - you'll get less problems.
